We Interrupt Our Regular Programming to Bring You This Important Message About our Planet

Tomorrow is the 39th edition of Earth Day. Of course, as anyone over the age of 39 can tell you, the Earth is more than 39 years old, but apparently it was less than four decades ago that we decided to start honoring our Mother (Earth). Partly because before that time, environmentalists didn't really exist - at least not in large numbers.

Even while many species have found themselves on the endangered list, the number of environmentalists has exploded. Reducing, reusing and recycling is now a part of our everyday life.

But this is Earth Day, so rather than just living inside of our little ecosystem, we have expanded our boundaries to bring you some of the hottest issues facing our planet. In the first installment of our Docs with Issues Series: Save the Planet, you'll learn about logging disputes in Canada and attempts to save and reclaim North America's Great Lakes. You'll see some of the threats to the Himalayas - and Brooklyn.

And we even threw in some unicorns in the hopes it'll bring a little touch of magic to the world.
