Alfred Hitchcock, Still Scary After All These Years

In this day and age of super special effects and sometimes-scarier-than-fiction-reality, does a black-and-white film from 80 years ago still have the power to hold you in its grip of terror? If it was directed by The Master of Suspense, Sir Alfred Hitchcock himself, we think the answer is definitively yes.

We just added eight new Hitchcock movies today, which span 30 years of his work - from The Lodger to The Man Who Knew Too Much. Included in the selection is Blackmail, which began filming as a silent movie. Halfway through the shooting, sound on film became available, and the end result is generally accepted to be the first British talkie.

As fits this month of Friday the 13ths, you can find the Hitchcock library, and other scary classics, in Thriller Theater.
