The Flash Is Back

barrysback.jpg

Today we bring you a story that straddles the line between birth announcements and obituaries. Despite dying in 1985 while saving the universe, Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash, a.k.a. The Scarlet Speedster, a.k.a. The Fastest Man Alive, was resurrected today, perhaps because the universe still needs saving.

As opposed to real life, resurrections like Barry's happen relatively frequently in comic books. In the Justice League alone, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow and Hawkman have all come back from the dead. But this resurrection, 23 years later, is a bit of a surprise.

Though he lived only in our comic book memories and flashbacks for 23 years, The Flash lived on – on TV, that is. If you haven't run out to pick up your copy of DC Universe no. 0 yet, you can get your fix of The Flash on Joost. Outside the U.S., check out Pulp Secret for more comic news or another series inspired by a comic book character with a similar name – Flash Gordon.
