Mac is back ... MacGyver channel launching today
I took a math class in high school with two of my best friends. We terrorized our teacher, sitting on the radiator instead of at our desks, sending subliminal messages around the classroom, passing notes on gum wrappers and engaging in a couple of our favorite games.
The first game involved conducting our own “write-in” campaign to encourage Crayola to introduce a new line of adult-themed crayons. The “game” was thinking of new colors – like nuclear fallout green and tequila sunrise orange.
The other game was constructing ridiculous MacGyveresque escapes. Our favorites involved paper clips, gum and a third mystery element – sometimes it would be a protractor, sometimes a compass. We wouldn’t actually do anything with these creations, but would write notes on gum wrappers like this:
“I wish this class were over.”
“I can make that happen. All I need is a protractor, a wad of chewed gum and a broken paper clip.”
At the time, this was the height of entertainment … we thought we were so cute and clever.
While we might have been the only ones with a crayon game, we certainly weren’t alone in trying to solve problems like MacGyver. Other people actually tried – none of our "inventions" would have solved anything.
I didn’t realize how much I’d missed my old game. All I need is a stick of gum, a bottle of water, a couple of hours and Joost – MacGyver is back.
Updated: The MacGyver channel is up now.

Hi KingArtus -
We're working on expanding our library internationally. Sorry that MacGyver isn't available in Germany, but maybe you'd like to try SpaceRip (http://joost.com/246000i) instead? It goes more into the science of what's behind MacGyver.
