Who will win the stadium trophy?

I like to live in the present, so I don’t even want to address the beginning of the MLB™ Postseason. Like ripping off a band-aid, let’s sum it up: the Yankees, Angels, Phillies and Stacey’s beloved Cubs, are all out.

We’re left with four teams: Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. And I’m left with a problem – which teams do I want to win?

American League Championship Series™

  • Boston Red Sox: I don’t want them to win. Other than the fact that they have a player named Coco Crisp, I can’t root for them. First of all, my father, a life-long Yankees fan, would be crushed. Secondly, they’ve been trying to milk the underdog status ever since the World Series, and they just can’t do that anymore.
  • Cleveland Indians: Their GM is the brother of an ex-boyfriend’s old colleague. How is that for relationship-dropping? Not that I keep in touch with any of the people mentioned above. And they beat the Yankees, so that’s a point against them. But they’re playing the Red Sox.

My pick: Indians, in six games.

National League Championship Series™

  • Arizona Diamondbacks: I don’t know anything about them, but I hate their uniforms. They’re terrible.
  • Colorado Rockies: I lived in Denver for a couple of years. I like Denver. I also liked going to baseball games there. And they’re the hottest team in baseball right now.

My pick: The Rockies in five games.
