Mad For It!
Ever since the first time I heard the opening bars of "Cigarettes and Alcohol", the genius of Noel Gallagher began to work his magic on me. Seconds later, I heard the acrid sounds of a teenage Liam, whose voice seemed to come up from the very soles of his feet and reverberate through an internal cathedral of broken glass and treacle (probably caused by cigarettes and alcohol). At that moment, I knew the Gallaghers would change rock 'n' roll forever, and today, millions of fans all around the world are testimony to that fledgling thought.
The first time I heard them was thanks to a free cassette taped to the front of the UK music mag NME in the early '90s, and it seems that Oasis' unique distribution methods have reared their head again!
It feels like it 's been forever, but finally, Oasis are releasing a new song — their first ever digital-only single, "Lord Don't Slow Me Down" on 21st October. Not only that, they're going one better and have made it available, along with other Oasis videos, interviews and documentaries on their very own Oasis channel on Joost!
So, rejoice fans, the Oasis channel has launched in the UK, and that's great news for me and the other Oasis fans out there.
